Holiday Weight Gain?

This holiday season, don’t unthinkingly do things the same way just because that’s how you always do them. If the old holiday traditions aren’t working, if they’re not making you happy and causing holiday stress, it’s time to change!

I already worry about gaining weight so I am taking measures now to hopefully avoid the extra pounds registering on the scale on January 2! Create new holiday traditions with your family by choosing to engage in active celebrations. For instance, instead of driving around your neighborhood to look at all the Christmas lights, take a family walk. And take the dogs with you! Every little bit counts, so think creatively and come up with new ways to make the season magical. I will personally be hitting the slopes this week! We all know our pre-holiday habits. If you exercise three times a week and eat a relatively healthy diet, consider that your baseline heading into the holiday season. Then, enjoy the special holiday events you attend, but counterbalance the extra caloric intake with an extra workout for the week.

Just because you have more opportunities to stay up late and party doesn’t mean you should. Go out and have fun, but call it quits early enough so that you can get plenty of sleep. Aim for at least eight hours of sleep each night. What you drink can also affect the quality of your sleep. Drinking too much alcohol or caffeine can interrupt your sleep and leave you feeling worn out the next day. Remember, moderation is key!

There is a new healthy weight loss program launching this week with LifeVantage, a science-based supplement company. PhysIQ is a four step clinically proven weight management system that includes a probiotic that is coated to pass through your acidic stomach and onto your intestines where it provides a necessary balance of flora. A fat burner and  protein supplement shake are also part of this regimen. Non GMO, no artificial flavors or colors, all natural. If you would like more info, see the form below.

I am starting this regimen ASAP to get a head start on balancing my holidays with good nutrition, fun, and lots of skiing! Hope to see you on the slopes!
